“Echinaforce® Echinacea is a licensed traditional herbal remedy for colds and flu. It helps the body fight the symptoms of these infections by supporting the immune system, helping to maintain the body’s resistance. Echinaforce® is produced using extracts of freshly harvested, organically grown Echinacea purpurea herb and root, picked fresh and used within 24 hours of harvest”.
I started using Echinaforce back in October last year, initially taking it twice a day and then 3 times a day in November. The instructions on the box said: “15 drops (0.6ml) to be taken 2-3 times daily in a small amount of water”. I started off putting the 15 drops in a quarter cup of water, but I think this was too little as I found the taste a bit hard to stomach (strong rather than unpleasant). Instead I added the same amount of drops to a whole mug of water which really helped reduce the strength of the taste. If you are use to taking tinctures you probably won’t mind the taste as much.
Towards the end of the year there were 3 people at work with coughs and colds. When I started to get fatigue and a faint sore throat I increased the dose to 3 times a day which seemed to hold off the worst of the colds flying around. After a while, I wasn’t sure if I needed to keep taking this product, but once I stopped I came down with a horrible cold and wished I’d carried on taking it. I started taking this product again once the cold had set in. Whilst it didn’t reduce the length of my cold, it did help relieve some of the symptoms.
Echinacea is normally found in tablet or capsule form on the high street and I’m not good at swallowing either of these so I was happy to find echinacea in a form that’s easier to take!
Summary
- Pros: All natural, really boosted my immune system against colds and it’s suitable for children (6+)
- Cons: The taste was a little strong.

0.6ml drops contains the equivalent of 285mg whole fresh plant of 64.5mg whole dried plant.
Also contains 65% /v/ Ethanol.
