Burts Bees Citrus Spice Exfoliating Shower Soap

June 3, 2008

A zesty, warm and spicy exfolaiting shower soap.

My first impression from taking this bar of soap out of it’s wrapper was that it looked like it meant business! It was dark, hard and quite heavy! If Arnold Schwarzenegger was a soap, he would be this one! The fact that bar is hard and heavy worked in my favour though because it lasted a long time rather than just shriveling up when it came into contact with moisture.

The smell is zesty, warm and spicy and in some ways reminded me a little bit of Christmas. Out of all the ingredients, cinnamon, patchouli and clove are the strongest.

The exfoliating grains are very fine but still scratchy considering they are in a bar of soap – great if you prefer a bit more of an abrasive exfoliant. I really like using this on my body but the grains were too ‘sharp’ to use on my face. I didn’t get a traditional white foamy lather from this bar soap, instead it was more of a fine oily layer which was removed as quickly as it formed by the exfoliating grains.

I would really like to buy more of this soap, but it came in a gift pack and I am having trouble finding some more. Does anyone know anywhere that sells the full size bars?

  • Pros: Smells amazing, great body exfoliator for those who enjoy a bit more ‘scratch’
  • Cons: Difficult to find full size bars
