Pitrok’s body wash has a pale gel like consistency. I don’t usually use shower gel because I find it doesn’t nourish my skin enough, but when I squeezed this product out of the bottle and into contact with water, it became a lovely smooth and creamy texture. I only needed to use a small amount as it bubbled up nicely with a bath puff. It rinsed off easily leaving my skin feeling soft rather than stripped of moisture.
The body wash was very mild on my skin because it’s made from all natural ingredients and doesn’t contain any fragrance. I’ve got sensitive skin prone to dryness and this worked brilliantly. Dry patches cleared up quickly and redness went away (I’m probe to this on the tops of my arms).
In terms of price, this product is cheaper than many of the other big shower gel brands – Weleda’s creamy shower gels are £7.50, Neals Yard Remedies shower products are £9.10 (cheapest) and Green People’s are £9.50.
The great thing about fragrance free products is you can customise them – a certain smell or for the properties of the essential oils themselves. This body wash makes a great base that you can add your own essential oils to. It didn’t have that ‘base’ smell that many fragrance free products have which taints what you add to it. I put a few drops of lime essential oil into the bottle (if doing this, bear in mind essential oil dilution), gave it a good shake and it was ready to use.
Overall a great body wash that is suitable for sensitive skins.
- Pros: Very soothing for dry skin and can be customised
- Cons: It’s easy to pick up shampoo instead of shower gel as the bottles for both products look the same
