Deodorant has been one of the last things I have managed to find decent a natural alternative for. I’d been using a spray deodorant that left big plumes of white powder floating around the room which made me cough if I got too near it. I was also throwing away a pressurised canister each time, which is wasteful. So, I decided it was time to make the switch! I have to confess that I’ve never really liked roll on deodorants – they feel sticky and you have to wait for it to dry before putting your clothes on or you get big white marks everywhere.
After searching, I’ve finally found one I like. It’s made from ethically harvested ingredients including rose geranium oil and lemon leaf oil. This deodorant smells heavenly! Very feminine and natural but without smelling too ‘hippy’. It managed to mask any smell from nearly all day to day activities, but sometimes needed re-applying after strenuous activity.
My main gripe with roll-ons is that you have to wait for them to dry. I was pleasantly surprised because this product dried very quickly and there was no stickiness afterwards. I haven’t found any white patches on my clothes either which is a big bonus.
As with most natural deodorants, this product does not stop you from sweating – but it does contain odour masking ingredients and those with anti microbial qualities that help to prevent growth of odour causing bacteria. At first I started using this only when I was at home, but now wear it most days. I still have my old brand of deodorant for days where I need to be completely dry, but I use this product about 90% of the time.
Tisserand’s deodorant has a white reyclable glass bottle and plastic roller ball and cap. The roller ball is a comfortable size and distributed the deodorant evenly.
This is the best natural deodorant I have found so far and one that I will carry on using. At £5 a bottle, it’s not the cheapest deodorant but it does keep me smelling fresh and without the aid of aluminium.
