Weleda say,

“The finely precipitated chalk base provides a gentle abrasive to clean and shine the teeth without damaging the enamel”.

The paste is very smooth and even though the second ingredient is chalk, it doesn’t taste at all chalky. When I started to brush my teeth, the paste went very thin and watery.

I found I had to rinse my mouth quite alot after using this toothpaste because I had lots of little white flakes left in my mouth. It left my teeth feeling clean, but the insides of my mouth felt like they had a coating on them.

The main thing I was unsure about with this product was the strength of the fennel – if you love the taste of fennel, then you will probably really like the taste of this toothpaste. Other toothpaste flavours in the Weleda range include plant gel, salt and ratanhia.

Although this product cleaned my teeth very well, I wasn’t that keen on the texture or the strength of the fennel.

Summary

  • Pros: SLS and fluoride free
  • Cons: Fennel too strong, left a coating in my mouth
