Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Hand Cream

March 7, 2010

An antioxidant-rich hand cream with organic pomegranate oil to reduce the appearance of age spots and improve the firmness of your hands.

“Weleda’s organic pomegranate comes from the fertile valleys in the coastal region of Icel in southern Turkey. This thriving fair trade farming partnership ensures Weleda has a top quality supply of organic pomegranate, and guarantees the farmers a reliable income. Harvesting begins just after dawn, the crop is hand picked, carefully and laboriously, to ensure the best quality fruit. The juice is extracted for the food industry, and the seeds are then dried before they are cold pressed to extract the valuable oil for skincare. To produce just 1kg of the precious oil requires 500kg of pomegranates”.

I work at the airport so my hands are exposed to air conditioning and I’m constantly using antibacterial solutions on my hands because I come into contact with people and their baggage. A combination of this and doing things around the house means my hands are very prone to dryness.

At work, I put the hand cream on after I’ve washed my hands and once or twice a day at home.

The smell of this hand cream is absolutely to die for – which makes me remember to put it on because I love the smell so much! It’s a very sophisticated smell, I can’t pinpoint exactly what it is, it just smells lovely.

The texture is very light and silky for a cream that contains lots of oils like sesame, sunflower and avocado oil. The consistency is fantastic, I only needed to put a tiny bit on and that was enough to leave my hands feeling soft and smooth. A small amount was ample for both hands and kept them soft for a long time. Although my hands had a slight sheen, they didn’t feel greasy at all – but I could see they had a protective coating on.

The tube is the perfect size for slipping in your handbag and I will definitely be buying more of this cream when it runs out.

  • Pros: No greasiness, very effective
  • Cons: None
