Weleda Rosemary Hair Lotion

July 16, 2010

A hair lotion that enlivens the scalp, assists growth and strengthens the shaft of each hair. Regular use helps the condition of permed, bleached or damaged hair.

“As well as organically-grown rosemary, it contains extracts of horseradish plant (Cochleria armoracia) which is naturally high in silica and sulphur – both essential for healthy growth of hair and scalp – and stonecrop (Sedum acre) for it’s anti-inflammatory properties and sulphur content. Together these herbal ingredients enliven the scalp, assist hair growth and strengthen shaft of each hair”.

  • Natural fragrance from essential oils
  • Ideal for damaged or problem hair
  • The formula was first invented in 1921 and is one of Weleda’s earliest health products
  • Free from artificial preservatives, colourants and fragrances

I’ve been using this product for six weeks, 2 of which have been a hot holiday in the sun and I’ve been really pleased with the condition of my hair.

Weleda’s Rosemary Hair Lotion is ultra light and doesn’t feel at all heavy of greasy, making it ideal for even greasy hair types.

I’ve used this lotion on damp hair after a shower and it has really helped with frizz – which I was very suprised about because it doesn’t have any weight to it. Once dried, my hair was very soft and shiney. I started to use this regularly and found I didn’t need to use hair serum most days – I have curly hair, so I can get away with a degree of fly-away. At first I wasn’t sure how much to apply in case it made my hair greasy but I’ve been using a 50p size amount each time and it hasn’t weighed down my hair at all.

I’ve used this product when I’ve let my hair dry naturally and also when it’s been blow dried and I’ve been happy with both results. The heat from the hair dryer seems to ‘activate’ the lotion as it left my hair extremely soft.

This hair lotion is also great for reviving tired looking hair. I’ve been trying not to wash my hair everyday because it dries it out too much, so the day after I’ve washed it, I just work some of the lotion into my hair and it makes it feel like it’s freshly washed.

The lotion has a really lovely, freshing scent. The rosemary is not at all over powering and once I’d worked it into my hair, it had a subtle fresh and clean smell.

I’d definitely recommend this hair lotion for keeping your hair fresh, soft and shiney – especially in the Summer months when your hair is under stress from heat, humidity and sun.
